The quiet Herold's Bay Beach is located in the Western Cape vacation town of Herold's Bay, some 15 kilometres from George, at the head of a picturesque riverine valley.
With only about 100 houses, this
tiny seaside town is quite appealing to anyone trying to get away from the big
metropolis.
The beach is great for
sunbathing and is well-liked for swimming, fishing, and surfing because it is
protected from the southeast breeze. At low tide, the two tidal ponds provide
hours of entertainment for young children. In summer, a few ice cream trucks
typically park close to the beach and provide ice cream, refreshing drinks, and
other refreshments.
